What to do in Holt?

In the House:
There is XBOX ONE with Kinect sensor and a selection of games, Panasonic Viera 42" plasma TV with Freesat, DVD and VHS players, a large selection of videotapes, DVD's, novels and board games. Wireless fibre broadband. Pure DAB radio.

In the Garden:
There, on almost 2 acres we have formal, enclosed lawn to play on. We have a 2017 new 6 seat HotSpring Relay hot tub (extra charge applies). There is a large 16' trampoline with safety sides and a playground for children under the age of 12 and under 50kg. There is also barbeque and seating area next to the house.

Or, if you like gardening, we have a patch of soil where you can dig/plant/weed to your heart's content  - just ask when booking.

In Holt:
Eating out: we are asked this question regularly, and our usual answer is - we are spoilt for choice. Here is a list of a few suggestions:
- Kings Head in Holt www.kingsheadholt.org.uk/new/- owned by the same people who run Byfords. Stake house has just been opened, looks very nice;
- Byfords in Holt www.byfords.org.uk - very posh and very tasty;
- Italian restaurant Capri. Very popular with families, they do take aways too;
- The Lawns Hotel in Holt. Nice bar there;
- Indian restaurant "Taste of India" The restaurant seems to be always full, but I cannot offer any comment, as I have not been there for a very long while;
- Chinese takeaway "Sunny" - very nice.

Shopping: again, we are spoilt for choice here. One of the most commended shops is Bakers and Larners (known as Norfolk Harrods). There are many other attractive shops in Holt, be that fashion (our favourite is Oola Boola on the High Street), galleries, antiques and many other kinds.

Others worth noting: Holt steam train and friendly low-cost cycle hire.

Outside of Holt

Just across the road there is Spouts Common with a small stream, and a peaceful walk to Leatheringsett village, (~1.5miles), where there is superbly recently refurbished Kings Head family pub (do book places in advance, as it is very popular).  The Pigs in Edgefield is another popular option (less than 5 minutes drive away). They won Country Pub of the Year 2010.
To the south there is Holt Country Park, with large stretches of wood, and a couple of small ponds and a great children's playground.
